Garden Office Hatfield
A compact garden office in Hatfield for a freelance consultant — efficient layout, excellent insulation, and a professional space that separates work from home life.
Working from a spare bedroom was no longer sustainable for our Hatfield client — video calls interrupted family life, and the boundary between work and home had dissolved entirely. A dedicated garden office offered the clean separation they needed.
We designed a compact 12-square-metre building positioned to maximise privacy from the house while capturing afternoon light. Horizontal larch cladding gives the structure a contemporary, architectural quality, and a single large window on the desk wall frames a view across the lawn.
Inside, every millimetre counts: a built-in desk with integrated storage, acoustic wall panels, and a small kitchenette area for tea and coffee breaks. Full insulation and a quiet ventilation system mean the office is comfortable and distraction-free throughout the working day.
